Sandy Jones is a native New Mexican. He was born and raised in Corrales, New Mexico on a family farm. As a youth, Sandy raised registered Angus cattle and was very active in 4-H and FFA. While with FFA, he received many degrees including American Farmer and in June received the highest level of honorary membership, the Honorary State FFA Degree.
While in Corrales, Sandy served with the Corrales Volunteer Fire Department as Assistant Chief and Training Officer for over five years.
Sandy and his wife Ginni founded Sandy Jones Construction, a statewide road construction company. His whole family traveled with him for many years. He operated the company for twenty-five years and worked in almost every county in New Mexico.
A few years later Sandy and his wife moved to Sierra County on a small farm where they live today. They have two children, Cristal and Clay, who followed in his footsteps raising animals and being active in 4-H and FFA. On their farm they raised sheep and have a small pecan orchard and grow alfalfa. His wife Ginni is the director for Rio Grande Valley Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), a non-profit that acts as a voice for abused and neglected children.
