(Santa Fe)- The New Mexico Building and Construction Trades Council announced they have endorsed Sandy Jones for State Land Commissioner. The NMBCTC is composed of 16 building trades unions statewide.
“Sandy is the best person for the job and we fully support him in his campaign for state land commissioner,” said Ray Baca, executive director of the New Mexico Building and Construction Trades Council. “We support his vision for the state land office and his long term goals to care for the land. We have witnessed the professionalism and passion he brings to state government and we are proud to endorse him. Sandy cares for our children’s future and he is the right person to oversee our state trust lands.”
Sandy Jones announced his candidacy for State Land Commissioner on September 25th in Belen, NM. Jones is currently Chairman of the Public Regulations Commission. Before being elected to the PRC in 2006, he operated a construction business for over 25 years. He lives in Sierra County on a small farm with his wife Ginni. Jones said his love for the land and his hopes for the future of our children have led him to run for this office.
The Jones campaign will be based out of Santa Fe, NM. An open house for the campaign headquarters will be held on Wednesday, December 9th at 5:30 pm at 1322 Paseo de Peralta in Santa Fe.
